Hey everyone,

Here we are, the walls have been re-coated, new furniture moved in and the keys have been handed over. Whilst I will still be knocking around on here, I hand over to the very capable Derek, Elaine and Potter as administrators of the Rumney Folk Club site to stir things up once more and dedicate a bit of their time to make sure the site an interesting and thriving place to be!

I’ll be concentrating more on generating interest in the club through more conventional means (such as posters) and through the rest of the web, whenever I get the chance.

Big updates to the website include:

A Community Forum – this includes areas dedicated to the club itself, Rumney and surrounding areas as well as a place for musicians to get together. Whilst we’re not expecting huge amounts of users, I will be drumming interest through some local channels to get people interested in the local community and the club itself. You’ll need to Sign-Up to participate in the forums but this really doesn’t take much.

Events Calendar – a calendar showing the regular club dates, as well as other special occasions can be found in the about section.

Audio Section – the audio players will be back with live performances from the folk club and studio recorded tracks from folk club performers

Ok, I hope you enjoy and get active on the site – the club has a good opportunity to do more for the communities it supports, including musicians who travel from far and wide to be at our club, so make something good happen!

Keep checking back on this blog for some updates on the club, upcoming events and just general conversation pieces!

Cheers,

Paddy
